10-107

Athletic Background: I was a Junior Olympic swimmer. I held the state record for the 100 meter butterfly and was the first woman in Arizona to swim that event in less than one minute.

Most Proud Derby Moment: I was honored to have been given the opportunity to serve a year as Assistant Head of Officiating in 2012-13.

Worst Injury To Date: I broke a finger in so many places the only thing they could do was put all the pieces in a small plastic tray and strap it on and hope it all glued itself back together. It’s crooked but it works. Dislocated shoulder, cracked sternum, multiple torn MCL’s. It’s just what comes along with a full-contact sport.

What Brought You To Derby: I have friends who were skaters when this league first started. It took a long time for me to get out and watch a bout but the first time I did I fell in love with the sport.

Signature Move: Shaking my whistle between jams to get all the spit out. That way it doesn’t spray up into my eyes the next time I use it.

First Thing You Do After A Bout?: Eat something. Bananas are good.

Favorite Moment at a Home Bout? The start of the second jam. That’s when my brain says, “We got this.”
