North Star Roller derby is excited to announce the creation of Open Skate Collective!
Open Skate Collective (OSC) is a new membership level within North Star Roller Derby that is open to ALL genders, including cis men. Currently, OSC welcomes all skill levels with both drop-in and full membership options. Come skate with this new group at our new practice space on Friday nights!!

Whether you want to be a full-fledged OSC member or you’re just dropping in to check it out, please register ahead of time! You only need to fill out this registration form one time!

When: Fridays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with potential to expand to other time slots in the future
OSC Requirements: To attend OSC, skaters must be 18+ with full gear (helmet, mouth guard, elbow & knee pads, wrist guards, quad roller skates). Proof of primary health insurance and valid photo ID is required to show at your first OSC practice. You will also need to sign waivers if you are not a current NSRD member and/or do not have WFTDI.

**If you need help with gear, check out this gear guide! We have some discount codes for ordering online, and we can often wrangle some loaner gear if you need help getting started. Please coordinate with us ahead of time if you need to borrow gear.
OSC Fees:
The drop-in fee for OSC is $10 per practice. If you are interested in a membership, it is $25/month. You can pay either in cash or via Venmo with an additional $1 fee. (After the first month, membership fees will be invoiced.)
WFTDI:
WFTDA Insurance (WFTDI) is required to be a member of OSC. This isn’t required for the first month, so if you decide that derby isn’t for you, no problem! If you plan to become a member, or continue to attend drop-in practices after your first month, you need to purchase WFTDI*. WFTDI is a personal insurance coverage that travels with you, and it is supplemental to the required primary health insurance! It is valid for one year from the date of purchase, and it should cost ~ $75.
